Battalion History

In October 1982, General Isaac Smith, then commander of Second ROTC region, together with former university of Louisville President Donald C. Swain signed a contract which formally established the University of Louisville as a host institution for Army ROTC. Bellarmine University and Indiana University Southeast entered into a partnership agreement with the University of Louisville that enables students from those schools to be commissioned through the university of Louisville Army ROTC program. This agreement has led to the commissioning of over 30 cadets from those schools, and has firmly established Bellarmine University and Indiana University Southeast as producers of our nation’s future officers and leaders.
