LTC Robert B. Bashein

Professor of Military Science

LTC Robert B. Bashein, Professor of Military Science, is a native of Hillsborough Township, New Jersey and has a combined 24 years of enlisted and commissioned service in both the active Army and the Army National Guard. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University. He received his commission as a Field Artillery Officer from Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia. LTC Bashein has held numerous leadership positions to include platoon leader, battery commander, Military Transition Team Chief and battalion executive officer. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, the parachutist and air assault badge. LTC Bashein is married to the former Lorri Sawyer, they have five children; Brandon, Justin, Alishya, Mericia and Trevor.

Georgia Gilbert

University Secretary

Georgia Gilbert, a native of Nebraska, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in English from Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas. She took courses leading to certification in secondary education at Weber State University before joining the Utah staff of former US Senator Jake Garn.  Georgia has also worked as a staff writer for the Standard-Examiner and the Davis News Journal, as an administrative assistant at Westminster College and staff assistant for the Utah State University graduate studies program. Georgia resided in Utah for 23 years before moving to New Hampshire, returning to Utah in 2002. She was employed at St. Joseph High School in Ogden before joining the Military Science department at WSU in 2006. Georgia is the mother of four sons, Derek, Paul, Ryan and Josh.
