Major Daniel Rice

Battalion Commander/Professor of Military Science

Responsible for the supervision and mission accomplishment of WVU Mountaineer BN, academic/division chairperson, MSIV Chief Instructor

Graduated from the University of Georgia as a Distinguished Military Graduate and branched Aviation in 1995.

Assignments: Fort Rucker, AL; 18th Aviation Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Rucker, AL; 101st Aviation Brigade, Fort Campbell, KY; 78th Aviation Battalion, Camp Zama, Japan; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Riley, KS; 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, Hunter Army Airfield, GA; West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV

Deployments: Bosnia x 2; Honduras; Iraq x 2; Republic of the Philippines; Afghanistan; Pakistan

MSG Donald Ferguson

Battalion Sergeant Major, Chief Military Science Instructor

Serves as senior enlisted military advisor for the WVU Mountaineer Battalion, responsible for field and drill competencies within the corps of cadets, MSII and MSIII Instructor.

Assignments: 24th Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA; 25 Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI; 18th Field artillery BDE, Fort Bragg, NC; 82d Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC; Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion; 18th FIRES BDE, Fort Bragg, NC; West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV

Deployments: Operation Restore Hope (Somalia 1993-1994); Operation Southern Watch (Kuwait 1999); Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006); Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan 2008-2009)

Coordinator for recruiting and retention programs, Battalion Executive Officer

Battalion S3/Senior Military Science Instructor

Responsible for training and operations of the WVU Mountaineer Battalion, MSIII Chief Instructor.

Specialist in all aspects of administrative issues, assisting and advising the Professor of Military Science in completing all Cadet actions

Supply Technician

Initiates, plans, and executes the ROTC supply program, serves as the accountable property officer








Ms. Amy Miller

Administrative Associate

Liaison between the University and Army ROTC








Ms. Charlotte Marbury

Administrative Secretary

Plans and coordinates all special events such as commissioning and award ceremonies. Also works closely with the potential Cadets in scheduling physicals and follow-up appointments








Ms. Cynthia Siegman

Administrative Technician

Assists with prospective Cadets to prepare for contracting and supports administrative issues for all Cadre.
